Roughness data
The roughness data captured for unsealed roads is done with our specific unsealed testing vehicle. This vehicle uses The Bump Integrator (BI) is a Class 3 response-type road roughness measuring equipment used for roughness surveys on unpaved roads which can also be used in wet conditions due to not needing lasers. A calibration of the BI is required once on site as per manufactures specifications.
Rutting data
It is recommended to capture rutting data in the form of visual assessment using the IPWEA Condition Assessment & Performance Guidelines Practice Note 9: Road Pavements (visual assessment). This data is the most consistent way for capturing unsealed road rutting and can be completed either live during survey or post survey in office.
Image capturing
By utilising the right of way cameras we can capture all the data required to satisfy customers requirements for unsealed road surveys. Once the images have been captured, we can visually assess gravel coverages, depth and durability, road profile and drainage and identify defects as per customers request.
